So, This is a rather political-oriented post, but it’s about something no-one would expect it to be about anyway.
9/11, as you know, was the date of the World Trade Center towers collapse due to a hijacked plane flown by terrorists.
What few people know is how someone actually had the intellect and the guts to speak out about what America SHOULDN’T do… and got completely ignored, as, if you read Eric S. Raymond‘s little essay, you will realize most of what America HAS done… was exactly what they shouldn’t have done. ( somehow, I see the humor of this statement, but cannot make myself laugh, due to the lives this stupid governmental decision has probably taken…)
PS: to counterbalance the seriousness of this post, as “Serious” discussion tends to stagnate due to our hive-mind like love of ignoring the truth at all costs if it hurts our believe:
Fun concept I learned of today, the Geek Code.
So, for your delight, here’s mine ( and a decoder, someone has gladly provided for non-native readers like us 😉 ):
-----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GU d(pu) s+:-- a--- C++ UL>++ P>+ L++>+++ E@ W++ N o? K? W+@ O? M- V? PS+ PE Y+ PGP(+) t 5? X+ R@ !tv b+++ DI?>+ D G e>++ h!>h+(+) r++@ !y+ ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------
Weird and alien… I’d say this is how the Necronomicon would be written to allow scholars to study it wihtout going mad, so incomprehensible, you have to “Progressively” go mad to understand it fully XD.
I think geeks, hackers and such should reintroduce this concept, even if it’s a bit outdated ( Netscape became Mozilla, in case you didn’t know) it’ll be a good history lesson, because we folk tend to say to ourselves “what’s he talking about? better Google/read it up later for future use… just in case ” XD.
G’day to y’all!!
And if you haven’t realized yet, Eric S. Raymond is sort of a role model for me.
